jump costa rica

Over the Thanksgiving holiday I got to visit my sister and her husband in Costa Rica. While's it's a tropical locale, it's quite different than what I'm used to here in Florida. There are mountains, and hills, and land that goes up and down and I don't have names for them because I never deal with that. There are volcanoes and waterfalls, streams everywhere and it's not even in the heavy rainy months anymore. Everything was lush, and mixed in together. I saw cactus on beach and palm trees on the side of the mountains. Here I am in front of one of the aforementioned waterfalls. It's quite impressive, for someone that only sees water lazily move nowhere in canals. photo:mariann
